Introduction

The plan is to have the same capabilities with IFC5 as with the current IFC releases. But IFC5 is still under development and while it aims to be functionally compatible with existing versions, it is technically quite different.

IFC 5 is under development and all that is stated hereunder might change in the future.

The current version is IFC5a (alpha version) which is from 05-06/2025 and evolving.
